Since our launch in April 2026, IMG Union has achieved a series of significant milestones in a remarkably short period of time. We are proud to share this update with our members and the wider IMG community.
✓ Launched April 2026. IMG Union officially launched as the United Kingdom's first dedicated trade union for International Medical Graduates.
✓ Over 1,000 members. More than 1,000 IMGs from across the UK joined within days of our launch — one of the fastest membership growths of any union at foundation stage in recent years.
✓ Members Portal live. Our dedicated Member Portal is now live at members.imgunion.org.uk — where members can access their digital membership card, vote on union decisions, and apply for leadership roles.
✓ Code of Conduct drafted. The IMG Union Code of Conduct has been drafted and is currently under review by the Founders Council before being put to a full member vote. Every member will have a say.
✓ Governance structure established. IMG Union has a clear, transparent governance structure in place — including an Executive Leadership team, Board of Directors, and specialised committees.
✓ Regional Representatives applications open. We are actively recruiting Regional Representatives across the UK. Apply through your Member Portal today.
